Giant Eagle partnered with local food banks to provide meals by raising money through a register donation campaign. From September 16 until December 31, 2021, guests could visit any Giant Eagle, Market District, or GetGo location to make a donation to their local food bank at checkout. Curbside Pickup & Delivery customers could also give by adding a donation to their carts in their online orders. All dollars donated, will remain in the local community. Donations could also be made directly by visiting the website for any of our local food bank partners.
We created Full Plates Zero Waste so we can help ensure that our neighbors have access to fresh, healthy meals AND so we can take steps to reduce food waste by connecting neighbors in need with nutritious food before it's no longer edible.
One in seven people across our communities is food insecure, while nearly 40% of food produced in the U.S. goes to waste.
In total, we aim to donate 80 million meals between 2021 and 2025, with a major part of this goal driven by partnerships with organizations that can get food to people who need it and keep it out of the landfill.

Add a donation to your cart on Curbside Pickup & Delivery orders and help area food banks provide nutritious meals to local communities.
Together, we can end hunger in the places we call home.
