Giant Eagle has earned a score of 90 on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), our highest score ever!
The CEI measures corporate policies and practices concerning Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Team Members.
We’re proud to be recognized as a company that goes above and beyond to foster a work environment in which everybody can feel safe, comfortable and welcome. However, the true recognition belongs to the Team Members at every level of the organization for their day-to-day commitment to equality.
The average CEI score for all Fortune 500 companies is 71. Our score is significantly higher at 90, yet we will not be fully satisfied until we achieve a perfect score of 100.
While our commitment to hiring and training Team Members who are differently abled in meaningful roles has earned us some local, regional and national recognition, we don’t seek such attention. We do this simply because it’s the right thing to do. Still, we are proud of the praise we’ve received.
